Seeing With Our Father's Eyes

Out Of The Mouth Of A Baby

null

I saw an angel Monday night. She was truly amazing…a thing of wonder, beauty and joy! Her name is Adilyn Marie Oakes…my third entry in the world’s most beautiful granddaughter contest. But, of course, it is no contest at all. It’s over. Little Adi was 6 pounds, 11 ounces and nineteen and a half inches of pure delight. Her momma did a wonderful job of bringing her into this world. She was welcomed by her parents, Matt and Christi, whose hearts were overflowing at the precious gift Father God gave them that night.

Now…I happen to know that there aren’t many granddaughters who are able to talk on the very night of their birth. But Adi was speaking to me. She told me of Father God’s infinite wisdom and power displayed most recently in the knitting of her together inside her mother using wonderful parts from both her momma and her daddy. She was eloquent as she explained to me how great God is and how greatly He is to be praised. She spoke to me of love…of the love of God…of the love of two wonderful parents who welcomed her into their life of love which she gloriously changed that night forever…and of the love of grandmas and grandpas, aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom were so anxious to learn all about her arrival. She spoke to me of hope…reflected in her as living proof that God hasn’t yet given up on this old world, made brand new Monday night by her coming. She spoke to me of faith handed down from one generation to another to another. This faith shines in all the dreams of new parents for their little daughter and is reflected in newly energized prayers for her physical and, most of all, her spiritual welfare. Yes, she spoke to us with words that couldn’t be uttered, but which we understood in our hearts. For out of the mouth of our sweet baby, Adilyn, our God ordained praise (Psalm 8:2). And we do praise You, Mighty FatherWhose gifts to us are exquisite and indescribable…we praise You for Adilyn Marie Oakes. May You bless her to praise You with all she is, not only now in her infancy but throughout her lifetime.

Now…I don’t know how many angels can dance on the head of a pin (I don’t even know why they would want to do such a thing), but I know how many angels can fill the hearts of dad and mom (see picture) to the near bursting point of sheer happiness. Just one…a little one…their baby girl.

I wish you all could meet her in person…but for now you’ll just have to take my completely unbiased word for it…she is AMAZING!

    C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! ! ! !

Thanks for posting the BEAUTIFUL picture of Mom & baby Adi.

God bless you on your new journey together!
(1 out of 3…. 2 more to go!)

Our love, prayers, and best wishes,
    Ralph & Janet

THANKS FOR SHARING IN OUR JOY. WISH WE COULD HAVE VISITED A LOT LONGER ON THE SATURDAY OF HOMECOMING AT MC. I MISS YOU TWO A BUNCH. GOD BLESS.

  2. It’s a joy to finally lay eyes on my niece! Thanks for posting this, dad.

SHE IS A JOY TO BEHOLD…REAL LITTLE BEAUTY…CAN’T WAIT TO SEE ALL OUR LITTLE BEAUTIES TOGETHER AROUND THANKSGIVING TIME, BY GOD’S GRACE. I LOVE YOU, SON.

  3. What a beautiful Grandbaby you have. Another child to love, to spoil, to teach about God and His love. Thanks for posting the picture. Give Matt and Christi our best.

THANK YOU, REBA. IT’S SO GOOD WHEN HEARTS REJOICE TOGETHER AT THE GOOD THINGS AND IT’S SO STRENGTHENING WHEN THEY STAY TOGETHER AND HURT FOR ONE ANOTHER IN THE DIFFICULT THINGS. FATHER GOD KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE ADDED US TO HIS CHURCH. I PRAY FOR MORE AND MORE TO COME TO UNDERSTAND THESE BLESSINGS IN CHRIST…AND I PRAY THAT ALL OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN AND GENERATIONS TO COME WILL FALL HOPELESSLY AND FOREVER IN LOVE WITH JESUS.

  4. What a beautiful picture! Thank you Doug for blessing my day with that picture of true love. There is no other feeling in the world that can compare with the rush of emotions that hits you when you first see your son or daughter. It makes it possible to forget all the misery of the last few weeks of pregnancy….all the work and pain your body just went through to get that little thing in this world!!

I am so proud for you and yours. What a lucky little girl to have such godly Christ-like people around her! May God hold her in His Almighty hands from now until He calls us home!

YES, ,SHERRY, I’M WITH YOU…I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE WONDER OF CHILD-BIRTHING AND STILL BELIEVE WE ARE THE PRODUCTS OF BLIND CHANCE. I JUST DON’T GET THAT. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT WOULD TEND TO MAKE US DOUBT THAT THERE IS A GOD BEHIND ALL OF THIS…BUT THE THINGS THAT WOULD MAKE US DOUBT ARE NOT NEARLY (NOT EVEN CLOSE) AS CONVINCING AS THE MANY THINGS THAT REVEAL THE AMAZING HAND OF GOD.
AND JUST WAIT, YOUNG-UN, UNTIL ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN STARTS HAVING CHILDREN. IT’S A WONDERFUL FEELING THAT I CAN’T REALLY DESCRIBE…BUT I ANTICIPATE WITH JOY HOW YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOU! AND A GRANDCHILD!!! WELL…THERE’S NOTHING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED QUITE LIKE A GRANDCHILD. WHAT A TREASURE! WHAT A JOY! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL AND SACRED PRIVILEGE AND OPPORTUNITY. I’M UP TO THREE NOW…I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT. AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE TWO OTHERS THAT ARE ON THEIR WAY. PRAY FOR US, PLEASE.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND MULTIPLYING OUR JOY.

  5. The picture of Adi and Christy are so sweet. They way the world is suppose to be – much love and a glow of how God’s Great Heart feels about the babe and the Mother. Adi sure looks like a femine little girl, she is so little and has such a pretty little face. Christy looking down on her in her arms is so complete and you can see her cherishing her in probably an instant she saw her (She Loved Her). I know she loved her in the womb to.

I am happy for all of you, especially Poppa Oakes. He loves his children with everything he has in Him and So does Vicki I am sure. I know truly (being around them when His Children were younger and how he talks of them to me now) how much Doug Loves his children. He has a Great Heart like God in many ways in how he Loves His Kids. He was so anxious for his Grandchildren to come also. He talks to me in detail how they are and what goes on with them, shows me pictures etc, etc, etc. I truly know how much He Loves them also.

There is nothing like a little Child (how sweet and precious are they).
God meant for them to be Cherished, Loved and Protected and for them to Grow in knowledge of God so they can become what he wants them to be and then when time here is up go back to God, Sweet, Pure and Innocent.
After the world has beat up on us some we don’t feel like we are very sweet, pure or innocent anymore but Jesus makes that happen and we truly are, we truly are. We must not ever forget that. And I know being human we do have a hard time believing that. The devil likes that.

Thanks for the beauty of this picture Doug and what it shows us how things should be.

    SIS,
I WILL BE ANXIOUS FOR OUR LITTLE GIRLS TO GET TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH THEIR AUNT GAIL BECAUSE SHE HAS A GREAT HEART LIKE HER FATHER GOD’S. YOUR LOVE IS LIKE THE SUN SHINING…ALWAYS THERE…ALWAYS WANTING TO SHARE THE GOOD…ALWAYS HOPING FOR THE BEST…ALWAYS CARING. I LOVE YOU FOR THAT. THANKS FOR THESE ENCOURAGING WORDS, SIS. GOD BLESS YOU…AND GIVE YOU STRENGTH AS YOU GIVE YOUR ALL FOR OUR MOM. I LOVE YOU FOR THAT ALSO. IN FACT…I JUST PLAIN LOVE YOU. HOW’S THAT?

  6. I love the way you write. I love the way you think. Doug you make me see a side of God … really a side of life … that I don’t often see. The words that were spoken to your heart from that little one are words of God sent straight to us from heaven. He finds ways to let us know doesn’t He?

Ways to let us know that He’s still making beautiful things. That He has not given up on humanity yet … even though we may be getting close. He loves us … cherishes us … knits us … saves us.

I thank God for your newest little grandbaby. She probably doesn’t know it now … but she has been placed in the best place possible. She has been placed in a family of believers that will make sure she knows where she came from and why. She will know about God’s love for her right from the start. She will be taught about the real Jesus and will be able to one day pass that on to her own. She is a blessing and she has also been blessed.

PAIGE, I DO NOT TAKE FOR GRANTED THE KIND WAY YOU RECEIVE AND RESPOND TO STUFF I WRITE. IT IS A BLESSING TO ME AND I THANK YOU. BUT YOU ACTUALLY TOOK THE WORDS OUT OF MY MOUTH, (AND I’M DEAD SERIOUS ABOUT THIS) BECAUSE THE WAY YOU THINK AND WRITE ALLOWS ALL OF US TO SEE RICH TRUTHS ABOUT OUR FATHER GOD THROUGH YOUR DEVOTION TO HIM…THROUGH YOUR HONESTY ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND OURS…THROUGH YOUR HEART OF LOVE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE FOLKS WHO SEEM TO HANG BACK IN LIFE AND WHO FIND IT DIFFICULT TO LOOK OTHERS IN THE EYE…AND THROUGH YOUR NO-QUIT SPIRIT. GOD HAS WONDERFULLY SUITED YOU TO BE A SHOULDER FOR MANY WHO HAVE NEVER HAD THAT KIND OF SUPPORT…TO BE A FRIEND WHO STAYS NO MATTER WHAT…TO BE A CHRISTIAN WHO MAKES IT EASIER, NOT MORE DIFFICULT, FOR LOST FOLK TO RETURN HOME. IF I HAD NEVER READ ANYTHING YOU EVER WROTE, I WOULD KNOW THESE TRUTHS ABOUT YOU BECAUSE OF WHAT I’VE HEARD AND READ FROM THOSE WHO KNOW YOU BEST. I PRAY THAT YOUR LOVE OF JESUS BE OF THE “UNDYING” KIND. AND I PRAY THAT YOUR INFLUENCE FOR GOOD WILL BE MULTIPLIED BY FATHER GOD TO HIS HONOR AND TO THE BLESSING OF MANY. I PRAY THAT HE LEADS YOU TO AN INSPIRATION FOR A BOOK THAT WILL HELP OTHERS WHO MAY BE TRAVELING LONELY AND LOST THROUGH LIFE. (NOW…I KNOW I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT THE BOOK THING…BUT…FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH, I REALLY BELIEVE YOU HAVE A GIFT…NOT ONLY TO WRITE…BUT TO WRITE FOR PEOPLE’S HEARTS. OKAY…I KNOW I’M MEDDLING NOW…I’LL MOVE ON…NO PRESSURE FROM ME. OH…JUST ONE MORE THING…IF YOU DO WRITE IT…I WILL BUY IT AND READ IT.)
THANK YOU FOR THANKING GOD FOR OUR LITTLE GIRL. SHE IS JUST PERFECT. I LOVE WATCHING MY SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW LOOK AT HER LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO MEMORIZE EVERYTHING ABOUT HER. THEY ARE SMITTEN. THEY WILL NEVER RECOVER. THEY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. IT’S ALL GOOD…SO GOOD…I AM BLESSED. THANK YOU FOR REACHING OUT TO US WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL THOUGHTS, PAIGE.

Is it not a genuine wonder to look upon (and hold in your arms) living proof of the “wonderful” and “precious” knitting of God? I am so proud for Matt and Christi. Congratulations. But most of all my heart is thrilled for you … my friend. I know the delight you have always had in your children … now it gets only better with the grand ones. Enjoy God’s gifts to you. He has found you faithful … so now He will make you faithful in much. Tell her something nice about me. I love you and yours. Rex
p.s. I love that girl’s middle name … even partial to her last name, as well.
